As you are aware, each year, concerned citizens and Aboriginal community members gather nationally and internationally, to honor the lives of the Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) in Canada. The purpose of the Vigil is to remember and raise public awareness about our missing and murdered Aboriginal women with the goal of one day, ending the violence against all women.

The Aboriginal Women’s Association of PEI, as well as our supporting partners; Native Council of PEI, Family Pride Program (Mi’kmaq Confederacy of PEI), Abegweit Wellness Centre, Chief Mary Bernard Memorial Women’s Shelter, Lennox Island First Nation Health Centre, PEI Inter-Ministerial Women’s Secretariat, and PEI Advisory Council on the Status of Women. These organizations have been proud to show their support and are committed to raising awareness for our “Stolen Sisters”, and to stop the violence against all women across PEI.
